There is a lot to catch up on.

If you just renewed your Netflix subscription, you are in luck because the streamer has a lot to offer in the coming month. As always, Netflix will be rotating its content by adding many more movies and TV shows for its viewers to enjoy. But as always, the spotlight will be on Netflix originals.

From fun animated series for kids and adults to heavy historical dramas and messed-up documentaries, here's your Netflix must-watch list for July 2024.

Star Trek: Prodigy – July 1

July will be a good month for all Star Trek fans, as the funniest chapter of the franchise returns with another 20 episodes. Canceled by Paramount Plus in 2023 after only one season, the animated series survived by being picked up by Netflix and can now go for its second Children's and Family Emmy Award.

The Man with 1000 Kids – July 3

Speaking of children, this Netflix documentary may make any child-free person shiver. The production team dives deep into the investigation of a Dutch man, Jonathan Meijer, who could potentially father more than a thousand children around the world. And yes, it is as scary as it sounds.

Vikings: Valhalla – July 11

The spin-off sequel to the legendary History Channel TV series Vikings, Vikings: Valhalla is coming to an end with its 3rd season. So if you want to join the characters for the final battle and say goodbye to the drama that has captivated so many viewers around the world, this is your perfect opportunity.

Exploding Kittens – July 12

If you've ever played the card game Exploding Kittens, you already know how much fun it is. If you haven't, Netflix's new animated series loosely based on the characters might be the perfect nudge to give it a try. The Godcat, voiced by Tom Ellis, is also a perfect nod to all the Lucifer fans out there.

Homicide: Los Angeles – July 16

After the success of the documentary series Homicide: New York, which premiered in March of this year, there is no doubt that a show using the same formula but following the detectives around Los Angeles would do just as well. So if you are a fan of the true crime genre and want to learn a little more about how the system works, here is your cue.

Cobra Kai – July 18

The first of the three parts of the 6th season of Cobra Kai will be released on July 18th and fans could not be happier. The action-comedy-drama has been delayed long enough due to the WGA and SAG AFTRA strikes in 2023, and now all fans want is to finally see some fun karate action for at least 5 episodes in a row.

Sweet Home – July 19

If you are a fan of K-dramas, there is no way that you have not heard of the sci-fi horror that is Sweet Home. The epic journey of survival in a post-apocalyptic environment has now reached its third and final season, and all fans are invited to join in the final battle. And if you haven't checked out the first two seasons, there's still time to do so.

The Decameron – July 25

For those who love the vibe of modernized period drama that Netflix is already suggesting with Bridgerton, there is another show that might interest you. The Decameron takes the troubled medieval period, darkened by the Black Death plague, and turns it into a black comedy about the surviving elite.

Elite – July 26

The Spanish high school drama turned real-life mystery is back for its eighth and final installment, and it promises to be more intriguing than ever. Showcasing the most prominent teenage issues, from parental neglect to substance abuse, the show has become the equivalent of 2015's SKAM in the way it has affected viewers.

Unsolved Mysteries – July 31

The legendary 80s TV series about everything in the world that remains unexplained, brought back by Netflix, will now return with its latest installment. Put on your detective hat, grab your notebook, and prepare to be sucked into the mysterious and frightening world of the unknown.
